¡Buenos días! ¿Eres de Sevilla o estás de vacaciones?Good morning! Are you from Seville, or on holiday?
¡Buenos días! Soy de vacaciones. Soy de Holanda, de Utrecht.Good morning! I'm on holiday. I'm from Holland, from Utrecht.
Carmen
¡Ay, qué bien, Holanda! Yo soy de Valencia, estoy aquí con mi hermana. ¿Y cómo te llamas?Oh, lovely, Holland! I'm from Valencia, I'm here with my sister. And what's your name?
Me llamo Chris. ¿Qué es bueno aquí para desayunar? Quiero probar la churros. My name is Chris. What's good here for breakfast? I want to try the churros.
Carmen
¡Mucho gusto, Chris! Los churros están muy ricos, pero hoy no hay churros en el hotel. Hay tostadas con tomate y aceite, y están buenísimas. Los churros, mejor en una cafetería del centro. ¿Quieres probar las tostadas?Nice to meet you, Chris! Churros are delicious, but there are none at the hotel today. There's toast with tomato and olive oil, and it's wonderful. For churros, better a café in the centre. Do you want to try the toast?

How it works

Three steps, every day

    • Ordering at a café or restaurantA1
    • At the doctor's officeA2
    • Renting an apartment, viewing with the landlordB1

    1Step into a situation

A new scene each time, at your level, with one to three people in it. A waiter, a landlord, a new colleague.

  1. 2Talk it through

Speak or type. The people answer like people do: they joke, interrupt, ask back. No drills.

  2. noun genderla churroslos churros

    3Fix what went wrong

A tutor notes your mistakes in English. At the end you get a short recap of what to work on.

The difference

Talking is half of it. Convola remembers what you got wrong.

  • Every mistake the tutor notes lands in your list of issues.
  • It comes back in short prompts and grammar cards, spaced so it sticks.
  • Tap a word you did not know and it becomes a vocab card.
  • Start picks what is due, so each day begins in the right place.
  1. In the conversation
    ser vs estar

Soy de vacaciones → Estoy de vacaciones

  2. Next practice

Completa: ___ de vacaciones en Sevilla. (estar: I am)

    Estoy

    Bien.

  3. Days later, a new prompt

Di en español: We are on holiday with friends.

    Estamos de vacaciones con amigos.

    Bien.

  4. Then
    Resolved

Right twice, days apart, so it leaves your list. A new slip brings it back.

Who it is for

Made for the moment you need to speak

You understand, but freeze when you speak

Apps and classes got you here. What is missing is talking. Practise real conversations at any hour, with no one watching, and see which mistakes keep coming back.

You are moving there

Rehearse the bank appointment, the landlord and your first day at work before they happen, in the variety you will hear.

You are starting out

Begin at A1 with a coffee order or a taxi ride. Type when speaking feels like too much. The tutor explains in English, and every new word can become a card.

Questions

Before you start

Who do I talk to?

AI characters who play the people in each situation: a waiter, a landlord, a new colleague. A separate AI tutor reads your lines and notes what to fix.

Can I speak, or only type?

Both. Speak into your phone or computer and hear the characters answer, or type if you prefer. You can switch at any time.

I am a complete beginner. Is it for me?

Yes. Start at A1 with short, simple scenes. The tutor writes in English, and you can type instead of speak until you feel ready.

Which levels?

From A1, your first words, to C2. You pick where to start; after that your level moves by itself as you practise.

What does the free trial include?

7 days with every language and feature, and a set amount of practice. No card needed, so nothing is charged when it ends.

What happens after the trial?

Your levels, words and cards are kept. Pick a plan to go on, or leave it. We mail you two days before the trial ends.

What is the practice allowance?

Each month of a plan includes practice, shown as a bar: about an hour a day. Each day has a share; when it is used you can take more from the rest of the month.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Convola runs in the browser on any phone or computer. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

Are my recordings kept?

No. Your speech is turned into text and only the text is kept, so you can read your conversations back.

Can I cancel?

Any time, with one button on your account page. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
